Estate outings | Rawhiti Estate

Rawhiti Estate is a hub of activity. Since we opened our doors late last year, we have been welcoming new residents, and integrating our current roster of industry-leading staff. Add some community events into the mix and what you see is a lively place.

Beyond the Estate we have been exploring some of the very best locations Auckland has to offer.

So far, we have made wonderful trips to Cornwall Park, Western Springs, the Auckland Botanic Gardens, Hobsonville Point and Maraetai with many more yet to come.

A recent highlight is our visit to St. Andrew’s Village, based in Glendowie, to participate in a light-hearted indoor bowls competition. It was a fantastic experience for everyone, and we were defeated by a mere two points.

Another high point was our day out to Hobsonville Point where several of our residents reflected on their memories of the area during its establishment as an air force base during World War Two. The trip brought back special memories for one of our residents who was a member of the Women Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF). Her barracks are now transformed into one of the neighbouring restaurants.

Here, we believe everyone should continue experiencing the things that they love, irrespective of their age or physical capabilities. If this means visiting a favourite childhood spot, participating in local sports, or simply going for a stroll, we will do our utmost to make it happen.

With the calendar pages turning over on what has been yet another fantastic, yet hot, Auckland summer, we look forward to organising some less weather-dependent estate outings for the Autumn and winter periods. We feel like the warm halls of Rawhiti Estate would make for a more than fine location to even the scoreboard with St. Andrew’s Village.
